McDonald, who was a court reporter on the "Sun," was.allegedly involved in an argument in which blqws were> struck. He fell, striking his head heavily on the footpath, and fractured his skull. He did not regain consciousness.

John I£irkwood, aged 30, an agent, was arrested and charged with having -feloniously slain McDonald. He was remanded at the Paddington Court till Monday. Bail was refused.
