Presenting a" certificate and medal awarded for assistance given in the Shanghai troubles of 1937, a young Chinese asked if he might join up with the New Zealand Forces, states "The Post's" Wanganui representative. A well-educated man, he has travelled extensively, and among the little treasures which he carries with him is an exquisite jade ring, given him as a keepsake by his mother, who is still in China.
