MCTAVISH FOR VICTORIA
The well-known Auckland jockey R. W. McTavish intends leaving for Melbourne shortly. Overtures were made to McTavish on his recentholiday there, and. with some good mounts offering, he has decided, for the time being, .to follow his calling in Australia. McTavish is one of the Dominion's most accomplished riders, and the ranks of the jockeys in Auckland will be the weaker for his departure. It is understood that ne will do some of the riding of Mr. G. J. Barton's team.
