BREWING INDUSTRY
A slight decrease on last year's turnover, due mainly to unfavourable weather conditions during January and February, was reported by Mr. A. A. Martin, chairman of directors of C. L.. Innes and Company, Ltd., brewers, Hamilton, at the annual meeting. He said that in a normal summer January and February were the two busiest months of the year, but the adverse weather on this occasion affected all branches of the business. There were various conditions contributing to the higher c-st of production and distribution, said Mr. Martin. In addition to increased wages, restriction of working hours, and increased cost of materials, the newly-imposed restriction of imports had presented another difficulty.
