27-YEAR FEUD SETTLED
The peaceful settlement of a 27-year-feud in Transjordan is reported in a Colonial Office statement, says the "Daily Telegraph."
In Amman the tribal heads •of two sections of the Howeitat Tribe met at the instance of the Emir Abdullah. When agreement had been-reached, all sheiks of both sections lunched with, the Emir, who presented gold-plated swords to the two paramount sheiks and robes of honour to their subordinates! During the Great War one section of the.tribe,: the Mataleka,joined the Turks; while the other, the. Tawayeh, supported the late King Feisal in his revolt in the desert.
