ST. KILDA BAND DECISION

DUNEDIN, September 11

St. Kilda Municipal, the c-liampion quickstep band of New Zealand, has decided that in view of the prevailing conditions created by the outbreak of war it will not be a participant in the New Zealand brass band championships to be held in Wellington next February. St. Kilda has attended the championships for an unbroken period of 19 years.

Mr. Norman Lee, a New York banker, has established a record bytravelling round the world in regu-larly-scheduled aeroplanes in 20 days 14| hours.
