CONFIRMING OF ENTRIES

For several years there has been a growing laxity on the part of owners and trainers in confirming nominations and acceptances of horses whom they have entered for races either by telegram or proxy. In future, the New Zealand Trotting Association intends to enforce the rule which prescribes the confirmation of entries, and in future stipendiary stewards will have access to all nomination and acceptance forms to ensure the proper carrying out of the rule.

Secretaries of clubs complain that it is impossible to publish a correct racecard, and in future they will not issue any tickets where the names of the owners and trainers are omitted from the entry form.
