COMPETITION SUSPENDED
TRIBUTES TO AUSTRALIANS
(Received September 6, 10.40 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 5. It is stated that there will be no Davis Cup competition until the end of the war.
The correspondent of the Associated Press of America dwells on the drama of the final, recalling the victory by Australia and New Zealand in similar circumstances in 1914. The correspondent pays tributes \to the Australians as not only the better but also the gamer team. The team was the first in history to win after losing the first two singles.
It is considered that the United States faces a tremendous task in regaining the trophy on the fast Australian coutts.
