The New Zealanders Peerless, Beau Vxte, Royal Chief, and Beau Repaire provided the high lights of today's training gallops at Randwick, and Buzalong, Adios. and Denis were the best of the local division. Royal Chief was responsible for a sterling gallop over five furlongs in lmin 3£sec. He retains all his old speed. Beau Repaire ran a sound mile in lmin 42Jsec. Te Hero did steady work. Reading ran a brilliant seven furlongs at Victoria Park, defeating St. Constant in lmin 28fsec, and he finished strongly. Early Bird has been scratched for all spring engagements.
