MUSTERERS AND DROVERS

Agreement on all points was reached yesterday in the conciliation proceedings connected with musterers, drovers, packers,, and snow-rakers. Mr. M. J. Reardon presided. The parties agreed that hours in the industry could not be strictly regulated, and this was borne in mind when the rates of pay were fixed.

Musterers, it was agreed, are to be paid not less than £4 15s a week, or £1 a day, with additional payment for Sunday work. Packers are to receive not less than £4 a week, or 17s 6d a day, while any musterer or packer required to do snow-raking is to be paid £1 7s 6d a day for such work. Drovers are to be paid not less than £1 8s a day, together with certain travelling allowances.
