SHARP RISE AT LEVIN

(SpeciaJ to the "Evening Post.")

LEVIN. August 29

One feature of the weekly stock sale at Levin yesterday was the sharp rise in sheep values, reports "The Post's" correspondent. At last week's sale a farmer bought a line at 8s lOd. Thinking to secure another batch at about the same price yesterday he commenced the bidding at 6s, but the sheep eventually changed hands at 16s lid. There were many conjectures as to the cause of the sudden rise.
