ISLAND BAY PROGRESS
The Island Bay senior reserve team has established a good record this year in losing only one game, but the play of the team in the last two games has left much to be desired. The match against Petone 1 was a very poor exhibition, and against Taubmans last Saturday was too evenly contested to be of a very high standard. Willis. Boys, and Leeks are playing splendidly at centre-forward, centre-half, and goalkeeper respectively, and their play has been consistently good throughout the season.
This team is the winner of the senior reserve grade and shows great promise for next season, but one or two players are obvious weak links and will have to be replaced.
The junior team has been playing much better, despite its defeats, and against the excellent Technical College team last Saturday played a very fine game. Outstanding players were G. Boston, W. Wilshire, and H. Andrews.
