Coastal fogs in Canterbury were very ■. slow in dispersing, but otherwise the weathee-was fair to fine generally. Central Otago had some light frosts last night, but temperatures otherwise have been moderate to mild generally. Winds this morning were light to moderate, with south-easterlies in the Cook Strait region, northerlies in the north, and north-easterlies elsewhere. Intermittent rain is falling in Taranaki and has extended at times to the opposite coast. On the east coast of the South Island there is fog or drizzle again, but the weather elsewhere is now fair to cloudy.

Auckland's weather yesterday was cloudy with a moderate north-easterly breeze. Late in the afternoon and evening, however, there was rather heavy intermittent rain. 43 points being the total fall recorded, but the weather subsequently cleared and this morning it was clear and calm. Temperatures were mild, 59.2 degrees being the maximum and 50.8 degrees the minimum.

Although it was rather cloudy in Wellington at times, the weather was pleasant and mild, with 6.4 hours of bright sunshine and with maximum and minimum temperatures of 58.1 and 43.2 degrees respectively. A northwesterly wind was fresh at times, but it died away in the evening. The weather this morning was overcast and calm and some light rain had fallen.

Christchurch had overcast, mild, and misty weather yesterday, with a light to moderate north-easterly breeze. Temperatures ranged between 50.4 degrees as the maximum and 43.3 degrees as the minimum. There was a trace of a light drizzle last night, and an intermittent light drizzle was falling this morning, the weather being dull and the wind having changed to the southwest. Although it was foggy early in" Dunedin yesterday morning, the sun shone brightly all day with a gentle breeze from the north. Fog returned in the evening, and a light drizzle fell last night, the fall at the Heads totalling seven points. The weather this morning was overcast with a light breeze from the north-east.
