— Lord Askwith presided, as Steward of the Duchy of Lancaster, at the Savoy Court held recently. He carried out with becoming dignity his formal duties. These were to receive the presentment of the jury which had beaten the bounds in the morning and to swear in a new jury. The "bounds" of the Manor of Savoy are marked with some ten iron plates bearing the arms of the Duchy of Lancaster. They are to be found in out-of-the-way places. Onp is on the stage of the Lyceum Theatre. A similar plate, replacing the old one. will be set in the new Waterloo Bridge. One plate need fear no disturbance. It is sunk in the Temple Gardens lawn. Franz Krain, 50, was beheaded in Berlin after being convicted of espionage on behalf of a foreign Power. j
