When the final cricket Test match •between England and the West Indies was continued at the Oval today, the visitors, in replying to the score of 352 made by England on Saturday, secured a lead of 43 runs and still have four wickets in hand. Rain stopped play shortly after the tea adjournment. The Oval wicket was in perfect condition and gave aot the slightest assistance to the bowlers. There was an attendance of 21,000. At the resumption of play West Indies had 27 on the board for the loss of Grant's wicket, and at lunch the score was 152 for three, the not out batsmen being V. Stollmeyer 17, and Gomez 5. I The biggest partnership was between Stollmeyer, who needed only 4 runs for his century when he was stumped by Wood off Goddard, and Weekes, who ran up top score of 137 before giving Hammond a catch off Nichols.
