DEATHS BY LIGHTNING

SHED IN PARK HIT

SEVEN PERSONS KILLED, EIGHTEEN INJURED

(British Official Wireless.) (Received August 22, 11 a.m.) RUGBY, August 21. Seven persons were killed and eighteen were injured when a shed in a park at Ilford was struck by lightning during an exceptionally severe thunderstorm over London and suburbs. A boy, on investigating screams coming from the shed, found thirty people heaped on the floor. An unconscious woman was clasping two children. Floods and power failures delayed rail and trolley-bus services.
