OBITUARY
LADY FINDLAY
A wide circle of friends will regret to learn of the death of Lady Findlay, widow of the late Sir John Findlay, K.C.M.G., K.C., Attorney-General in the first Ward Administration, which took place in Wellington this morning. Lady Findlay, who .was, 74 years of age, was born at Palmerston South,
Otago, and was a daughter of the late Mr. James Arkle, of Palmerston South. She married Sir John in 1889. and shared with him in all his political and other activities. Sir John died in December, 1929, when on a visit to England, since when Lady Findlay lived a retired life. She is survived by two sons—Mr. John Wilfred Findlay, of New York, . and Wing-Commander James Lloyd Findlay, of the Royal New Zealand Air Force. A third son, lan Findlay. was killed in action during the Great War. Other relatives are Dr. James Arkle, of Perth, Western Australia, and Mr. William C. Arkle, of Dunedin (brothers), Mrs. Corliss (sister-in-law), and Miss Valeric Corliss (niece), of Wellington. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Cathedral, Mulgrave Street, at 2.15 tomorrow afternoon.
