MOTOR-CYCLIST KILLED
William Joseph Michael Pearce, who was killed instantaneously when the motor-cycle he was riding came into collision with a motor-car driven by Mr. Robert Barnes Gibbons, of Khandallah, on the main highway about a quarter of a mile north of the Pae- j ikakariki School, at 10.15 o'clock on Saturday morning, was a single man, j 36 years of age, residing at Levin. He | was employed as a clerk in the Levin j [ office of the Native Affaire Department. The late Mr. Pearce was proceeding north on h?3 motor-cycle, and Mr. Gibbons, who was accompanied in the motor-car by his daughter, was travelling in the opposite direction. The car was extensively damaged on one side, but the motor-cycle escaped serious damage. Neither passenger in the motor-car was injured. An inquest will be held. Mrs. M. Pearce, of Brooklyn is the mother of the late Mr. Pearce, and Mrs. M. St. Clair, of Khandallah, is a sister. • .
