SYNOPSIS OF LAST 24 HOURS.

The extensive depression that has covered the Dominion for the past few days has moved way eastwards, and a new disturbance is now Moving on to the south Tasnjan Spa. Moderate to strong northrwesterlies have prevailed north of Cook Strait, and light to fresh couth-westerlies over the South Island. This morning westerlies predominate over the North Island, but the south-westerlies have extended to parts of the i'aranaki and Wellington Provinces. There has been fairly general rain, with seme heavy falls, and floods in the southern portion of the North Island. This morning conditions are still unsettled. Temperatures have been moderate but today they are cool in the north and cold is the south.
