ST. ANDREW'S CHURCH
MANAGERS ELECTED
The annual meeting of the congregation of St. Andrew's Church was held last evening, when the Rev. A. B. Kilroy, M.A., presided. In a brief review of world conditions, Mr. Kilroy said that it might be that the Church would become a remnant, but that remnant would be the hope of the world. The hope of the world was in tfie world's minority, and that minority was the Christian remnant.
In moving the reception of the ninety-ninth report of St. Andrew's, the session clerk referred to the satisfactory increase in the church membership and Bible class activity. Reference was made to the part which St. Andrew's as the mother church of Presbyterianism would take in the Centennial celebrations next February. In this connection a memorial tablet to be placed on the building of the Commercial Bank of Australia on Lambton Quay would be unveiled on Sunday afternoon, February 25, as marking the site of the first building, then known as the Scotch Church.
The report and balance-sheet were presented by the secretary to the board of managers and adopted. Appreciation was expressed in the handsome sum of £3946 having been raised by the congregation in response to the Presbyterian Church centenary appeal.
