DUKE OF KENT AND

AUSTRALIA

None of the -announcements hitherto made about the appointment oi the Duke of Kent as Governor-General of; Australia has stated precisely , how long he will stay in the Dominion, said the "Daily Telegraph" recently. The period has been given as "two or three years," as compared with the customary five years. The Duke has, however, intimated that he will preside at the Centenary Festival of the Boyal Masonic Benevolent- Institution, which takes place in London in the spring of 1942. This announcement suggests that the Duke's term of office will not extend beyond the autumn of 1941. The Duke was installed as Grand Master of the English Constitution of Freemasonry at a Grand Lodge held at Olympia on July 19.
