For the week ended August 11 the Clutha River dredge, operating at Alexandra, worked 133 hours and recovered lOloz of gold. The Okarito washup totalled 370z 14 dwt for 130 hours' dredging.

Gillespie's Beach reports that there was no washup last week on account of a shortage of water. New River return of gold won by the company's dredge during the week ended August 10 was 460z of gold from 6432 yards treated in 121 hours' dredging time. Blackball Creek dredge resumed work only in the last few days. There was no wash-up last week.

The Mataki Junction return for the week ended August 10 is 51oz of smelted gold for 122 hours and 16,000 yards.
