SLOW PROGRESS

NATIONAL RESERVE

Enrolments for the National Military Reserve, have slackened off and the 17,000 mark has not yet been reached. During the twenty-four hours ended at 9 a.m. today only 77 enrolments were received compared with the daily average of 233 established since enrolments commenced.

The state of the reserve is now:— Class I, 2189; Class II (returned soldiers), 6817; Class 111, 5074; ineligible, 2876; total, 16,956.
