LATE MR. H. D. THOMSON
The esteem in which the late Mr. H. D. Thomson, former Under-Secretary of Immigration, was held was shown by the large attendance at his funeral, which took place today.
The service at St. Luke's Anglican Church, Wadestown, was conducted by the Rev. L. N. Watkins, who also officiated at the crematorium. The pallbearers were Messrs. Fred Roberts and W. Wallace (1905 All Blacks), H. J. Wynne (president of the Thorndon Bowling Club), A. E. Mabin (president of the Wellesley Club), and A. W. Cooper and R. V. A. Knox (Immigration Department). The chief mourners were Mrs. Thomson. Miss Lorna Thomson (daughter). Dr. Lan Thomson (son), Mr. A. M. Thomson (brother), and Mr. W. Leatham (Napier).
The New Zealand Rugby Union was represented by Mr. M. McKenzie, of Blenheim, the president Mr. S. S. Dean (chairman of the council), and roost of the members of the council. The Wellington Rugby Union was represented by Messrs. E. Price (president), J. Prendeville (vice-president), J. N. Millard (chairman), and G. Jackson (treasurer).
