WHITE MAN'S PRESTIGE

JOHANNESBURG. August 10. Addressing volunteers, the Minister of Defence. Mr. O. Pirow, said:—-
"War or no war. the white. man's prestige in the East has already sunk to zero, and unless it is rehabilitated in the Pacific it will sink to the same level as in the countries of the Indian Ocean, with disastrous repercussions in Africa. It is a pity that the European nations are so blind with hatred that they forget that the white man's prestige concerns the whole white race and not a particular nation."
