MAUNGANUI'S CRUISE

Advice received by the Union Steam Ship Co. states that the Maunganui, now ori her second cruise to the Islands, arrived at Apia at 3 p.m., western time, on Sunday, and left again at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The weather during the whole period was fine and hot.'* A church service was held on Sunday night, a native choir of a 100 voices taking part. Later in the evening a band concert was conducted in the Esplanade under illuminated trees. On Monday morning passengers visited a show of hibiscus and other tropical flowers, and in the afternoon a programme of native songs, dances, and games was presented. There were also some pleasant motor trips through tropical scenery, and a number of passengers climbed to R. L. Stevenson's tomb on Mount Vaea.
