Minor disturbance? have continued to pass over the Dominion, and, although pressure is now rising in the south-west Tasman Sea, the main depression remains stationary over New Zealand. Moderate to strong north-westerlies prevailed from Nelson and Cook Strait northwards but over most of the South Island winds were light and variable, with south-easterlies predominating on the southern Otago coast. The weather was cloudy, to overcast and unsettled, with intermittent rain, more especially in western districts and In the far south. This morning southerltes have set in on the Canterbury coast, but otherwise conditions remain unchanged. Temperatures have been moderate. TODAY'S WEATHER.
FORECAST. Winds.—Northerly predominating over the North Island and southerly over the South, but a change to southerly extending slowly northwards and becoming general after 24 to 36 hours. Force mainly moderate at first but freshening from the south. g eas .—Rather rough north or Cape Egraont; elsewhere slight or moderate, but later rising south of Cape Palliser. Weather.—Dull and unsettled with, widespread rain or. drizzle. Snow on the ranges and snow extending at times to low luvels in. the South Island. Temperatures mild in the north, cold in the south, and later becoming cold generally.
