TASMAN CUP GOLF
AUSTRALIAN TEAM
VISIT TO NEW ZEALAND

ADELAIDE, This Day.
The Australian women's golf team to play for the Tasman Cup in New Zealand in October has been announced as follows: —Miss B. Crago (New South Wales), Miss B. Kernot (Victoria), Miss Joan Lewis (Victoria), Miss M. Rahkin (New South Wales), and Miss G. Shepherd (South Australia). The emergencies are Mrs. W. Smithett and Mrs. Sloan Morpeth (Victoria). Miss M. Green will be the manager.
STRONG TEAM
The Australian team is young and extremely capable and the contest with New Zealand at Christchurch on October 11 should produce fine play. The match will be held the day before the semi-finals of the New Zealand championship, which begins on the Shirley course on October 5 and ends on October 13. The Australian team will arrive at Wellington on September 27 and go south the same night for practice before competing in the tournament.
New Zealand's team will not be chosen until a day or two before the match itself, but twelve of the leading candidates for places -will assemble at Palmerston North on September 18 for a two-day series of matches designed to give the participants match play experience. On the three following days the players will compete in the annual Manawatu championship. Those chosen for the "trials" are Mrs. Hollis (Miss OlrVer Kay), Hawera, Mrs. FullertonSmith (Miss Bessie Gaisford), Hunterville, Misses Jean .Horwell, Timaru, V. Fleming, Christchurch, P. Helean, Hastings, S. Collins, Masterton, H. Buchanan, Christchurch, J. Duncan, Wanganui, C. Smith, Invereargill, H. Pritchard, Dannevirke, P.- Bell, Wanganui, P. Betts, Nelson.
The Australian team has been invited to compete in the Wellington provincial tournament at Heretaunga in the week following the national tournament.
