MADRID, August-6.

It is officially announced that 53 persons have been executed for alleged conspiracy in connection with the murder of Major Irurzun. - Seven others, including the-actual murderer, await sentence.

A Hendaye message published on Friday stated: —The arrest of six former republican militiamen for the murder of Major Gabaldon Irurzun, a police inspector, brings to a climax reports of widespread political unrest, summary executions, and shooting affrays between Monarchists and Falangists. Republican militiamen are reported to have ambushed Major Irurzun's car, also killing his chauffeur.
