PROMISING AWAPUNI LOT
(Special to the "Evening Post.") PALMERSTON N., This Lay. There will be the usual big batch of youngsters at Awapuni this season and more are arriving every day. Among those that have already commenced their education are: —
G. W. New.—Miss Hallomet (Night Fox—Hallomet)-, a dark chestnut owned by Mr. J. B. Cresswell, of Stratford; Chary (Inflation—ldle Chat), a bay' gelding owned by Mr. M. C. Gould, of Raetihi; King's Mark (Hall MarkIncense), a chestnut colt owned by Mr. J'W. J. Crawford, of Palmerston North; Cetewayo (Phaleron Bay—Chelae), a bay colt owned by Mr. J. C. Moore, of Stratford; and an unnamed gelding by- Acre —Elysian Lady owned by Mr. W. Gill, of Stratford. ' ' W. E. Pine. —An unnamed bay colt, half-brother by The Greek to Palm, owned by Mr. W. Hooker, of Palmerston North. ■ Mrs. A. W. McDonald.—An unnamed chestnut filly, half-sister by Tiderace to Gold Rod, owned by Mr. T. H. Lowry, Okawa; an unnamed brown colt, halfbrother by Bulandshar to Beaupartir, owned by Mr. Lowry; and Cherry Bay (Phaleron Bay—Cherry Pie), a brown colt owned by Mr. Frank Armstrong, Akitio. L. A. Pine.—Bonny Bunsby (Captain Bunsby—Bonrina), a chestnut filly, owned by Mr. E. Benge, Wellington. T. L. Wilson.—All Quiet (SiegfriedSpeechless), brown fill;,' owned by Mr. R. H. W. Holden, Hawkes Bay, and T. L. Wilson. H. E. Edmunds. —An unnamed filly, full-sister to Caution (Inflation —Lady Court); an unnamed colt (Inflation — Kono), owned by Mr. F. Roberts; and an unnamed filly (Inflation —Hallovonia), owned by Mr. C. F. Cronin, Palmerston North. Out on the course yesterday was a three-year-old brother of Top Row (Colossus—Hunts Up). He is a power-fully-built black, and he is the youngster concerned in the incident which resulted in a broken collar-bone for Mrs. McDonald. He is a nice mover and much interest will be taken in his progress.
