TEA MARKETS
The Colombo tea market this week was strong and active for all grades, according to private advices received in Wellington. Common teas advanced about £d a lb". Medium and better grades also showed an advance and prices for fine teas continued to im-prove-on account of the improvement in quality. Smaller supplies are coming to hand. The London market was also strong. The Calcutta market was a little irregular. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, August 2. L. M. Wright has received the following cabled report on the Colombo tea auction of August I:—"At yesterday's auction of 1,750,0001b, all grades were in good demand. Common types/ advanced about £d. Medium teas were firm. Better grade teas also remained very "steady at last week's prices. A total of 1,750,0001b is catalogued for sale next week"
