SCARCITY OF PILOTS

IMPERIAL AIRWAYS SYDNEY, July 29. Overcome by a scarcity of pilots to man its enlarged fleet, Imperial Airways invited applications from the Dominions and selected ten Canadians and six Australians. The latter are Messrs. K. D. Garden, J. N. Weir. N. G. Henderson, and K. G. Erwin, of New South Wales; C. Gatenby, Melbourne; and R. B. Anderson, Ballarat. They will undergo a six months' course before being appointed first officers in charge of Imperial Airways' flying-boats.
