YOUNG WOMAN'S DEATH

POLICE INVESTIGATING

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

HASTINGS, July 25. An intensive investigation by the Hastings police has followed the finding of the body of Miss Muriel Reichelt on a footpath in Avenue Road, Hastings, early last Thursday morning. Complete mystery surrounds the movements of Miss Reichelt on the evening before she met her death.

After a post-mortem examination, the stomach contents were sent to the Government Analyst in Wellington. The case took a new turn today when Dr. P. P. Lynch, Government Pathologist, arrived at Hastings by air from Wellington and conferred with the doctor who conducted the post-mortem examination and the police.
