Although delayed for two hours at Lyttelton last night by the late arrival at Christchurch of the express from Dunedin, the W-'iine made a good passage to Welli iton and arrived at her usual time, 7 a.m.. today. The south j express was delayed an hour at Dune-1 din by heavy snow, and was 78 minutes j late when it reached Christchurch at' 8.44 p.m. Waiting for through passen- j gers by the train, the Wahine did not' leave Lyttelton until 10 p.m. She made | the trip in nine hours. The Wahine j holds the record for the passage from Lyttelton to Wellington, for in 1924 she J accomplished it in 8 hours 21 minutes. |
