STREETS GAILY DECORATED

APIA, July 24.
H.M.S. Achilles, escorted by twelve native decorated fautasi,, anchored in the roadstead at 8 a.m. Their Excellencies Lord and Lady Galway came ashore at 10 a.m. and were received by the Acting Administrator and Mrs. Turnbull and Chief Judge and Mrs. Harley. . .
On the wharf were the Honourable High Chief Tamasese, European and Samoan members of the Legislative Council, Administrative officials and their wives, faipule, and other Samoan officials. A guard of honour of Samoan Territorials under the command of Captain Erl Pleasants was inspected by his Excellency.
The route from the wharf to the town clock memorial tower was lined with school children. His Excellency placed a wreath on the memorial tfower and inspected the returned soldiers.
The party then proceeded to Mulinuu to witness native ceremonies.
The streets were gaily decorated with arches and flags, and the weather was excellent, with brilliant sunshine. Over 2000 persons lined the shore and the street around the Customs building and the clock tower. A hearty and loyal i welcome to Samoa was given by all.
