NEW DUTCH CABINET
DR. COLIJN AS LEADER
AMSTERDAM, July 24. Dr. Colijn has formed a new Cabinet, which includes Dr. Patijn as Minister of Foreign Affairs, M. Bodenhausen as Minister of Finance, M. De Vooys as Minister of Economic Affairs, and M. Van Dijk as Minister of Defence.
A message on June 30 reported that the Netherlands Government had resigned as the result of the refusal of the Premier, Dr. Colijn, to agree to the plan of the Catholic "Party Ministers to borrow in order to finance defence works and unemployment relief. The Queen called on Dr. Colijn to form a new Government, but on July 6 he reported that he was unable to do so. Queen Wilhelmina, who summoned the heads of the defence forces and the Governor of Netherlands India to s a conference on the formation of a new Government in view of the dangers existing in Asia, at first' refused to grant Dr. Colijn's request that he should be relieved of the task of forming a new Cabinet, and then called on M. Dionysius Koolen, a member of the Catholic Party, to do so. He declared that he was unable to comply with her request, and Dr. Colijn was then asked to make another attempt.
