HERETAUNGA BOATING CLUB

Plans for the reconditioning of the Heretaunga Boating Club's hall on the Esplanade, Petone. were placed be-! fore the Petone Borough Council tast night, and a building permit was granted, subject to certain conditions. The clubhouse, a wooden building, was severely damaged by fire some weeks ago. It is intended to cover the exterior with a plaster finish, and the improvements will cost about £1000. Mr G. London, Mayor of Petone, said that the proposal was most satisfactory. The club was bringing yachtsmen from all over the Dominion to compete at Petone during the Centennial celebrations. The permit was granted, subject to the building being used as a clubhouse alone.
