NAVY LEAGUE

ANNUAL MEETING

The annual meeting of the Navy League (Wellington branch) was held last evening, the Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop) presiding over a large attendance. Seyeral apologies for absence were received, and congratulatory messages were received from, the Ota'go and Victoria branches.

Moving the adoption of the annual report, particulars of which have been published in '"The Post," Mr. Hislop said that the activities of the league had continued and there had been an increase in the support accorded by the public. In these days there was a feeling in the community supporting the re-armament of Britain, The outstanding event during the year was the visit of Earl Beatty. Much good work had been caiTied out during the year, and those responsible for it deserved praise.

The report and balance-sheet were adopted.
