SLOVAK STATE
AUTHORITARIAN REPUBLIC
(Received July 22, 2 p.m.) BRATISLAVA, July 21. The Slovak Parliament voted in favour of transforming the country into an authoritarian republic with a National Council of 10 and 80 deputies.
Whitebait in very small quantities has been reaching the Wellington market this week. The price in the market has eased slightly from 7s to from 5s 6d to 6s a pint and it has been retailing at an advance on those figures. These prices are slightly higher than at this time last year, but that is attributed to the lateness of the season and the fact that catches so far have been very small.
