INTER-CLUB RESULTS
Results of the week's badminton, matches are as follows: —A grade: Winter Show beat Wimbledon 3 by default; B, St. Thomas beat Tinakori, 12-4; Harbour Board beat Wesley, 15-1; B, Waiwhetu beat Wellington South, 16-6; E, Technical beat Waiwhetu, 15-1; F, Southern beat St. Andrews, 9-7; St. Johns beat Tinakori, 14-2; G, Waiwhetu beat H.V. V.M.C.A., 12-4. Next week's games are:—Tuesday: Wesley v Southern (B grade). Wednesday: Wimbledon 2 v. Wellington 1 (A); St. Thomas v. Cambridge Terrace (C); Island Bay v. Vauxhall <F). Thursday: St. Paul's v. Terrace (G). Friday: Tinakori v. Wimbledon 1 (A); Kelburn v. Winter Show (C); Harbour Board v. St. John's (G>. BRAEMAR CLUB CHAMPIONThe first championships of the recently-formed Braemar Glub were held in the Masonic Hall last night. In the final of the men's singles J. Gilbertson defeated R. Smith, 21-13. Miss M. Moody beat Miss M. Bassett in the final of the women's- singles, 21-19. NEW ZEALAND TEAM DEPARTS. A large number of badminton enthusiasts were present to farewell the New Zealand team when the Awatea sailed last night. Mr. and Mrs. D. O. Whyte. donors of the trophy for which the team- will play at Melbourne in a Test match, both wished the team success. Other officials of the New Zealand Federation included Messrs. R. B. Wheeley, secretary, H. N. Burns, E. J. Rishworth, D. A. F. Crombie, and E. C. Gorton. Several New Zealand players, including Miss Betty Payton, one ot Wairarapa's ranking players, are travelling with the team.
