TWICE GUILTY
REMANDED FOR SENTENCE
Pleading guilty in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon to a charge of having received two wristlet watches knowing them to have been dishonestly obtained, William Peter Anderson, aged 27, a labourer, was remanded by Mr. Justice Reed for sentence. Anderson pleaded not guilty to a charge of j receiving eight watches, but reversed! the plea when the Crown Prosecutor! (Mr. W. H. Cunningham) amended the charge to read two watches. On; the Crown Prosecutor's suggestion, his Honour discharged Anders n on a charge of breaking and entering the shop of Lauchlan's Ltd., jewellers, in Willis Street, on June 10, and committing theft in it. The prisoner pleaded not guilty to that. ] Anderson was found guilty by a jury of unlawful carnal knowledge, and was remanded for sentence. The jury recommended that the character of the girl concerned be taken into consideration in the passing of sentence. Mr. R. Hardie Boys appeal" for Anderson. ____
