WEDDING

TAYLOR—TURNER,

St. Michael and AH' Angels' Church, Kelburn, was crowded on Wednesday afternoon when the marriage took place of Miss E. M. (Marjorie) Turner, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. E. Turner, Everton Terrace, to" Mr. Tasman Gunnell Taylor, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Taylor, Hawkestone Street. Mr. J. N. P. Turner, brother of the bride, was best man, and the ushers were Messrs. Bruce Girdlestone and John Craven. The Rev. Gordon McKenzie officiated and Mr. Clement Howe presided at the organ.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a dress of embossed cloque, cut on slim lines, with circular train, and finished with buttons from wrist to elbow and down the back to the waist. A horseshoe of orange blossoms adorned the hem of the skirt, and the tulle veil, which was loaned by the bride's sister-in-law, was held in place with orange blossoms. She also wore a string of pearls and carried a shower bouquet of Easter roses, white rosebuds, freesias, and maidenhair fern.

The three bridesmaids —Misses Riro G'iTdlestone, Sylvia Button "(Timaru), and Olga Pope—wore cornflower blue crepe georgette over cyclamen taffeta, with tucked bodices, heart-shaped necks, and full-gathered skirts. They carried bouquets of cyclamen, grape hyacinths, ajid violets, the head-bands being of. similar composition.

The bride's mother wore a costume of saxe blue Harris tweed and a marmot fur cape, with a blue model felt hat trimmed with a silver ornament and finished with a veil. Her bouquet was of cyclamen, violets, and forget-me-nots. The. bridegroom's mother wore a prunelle model ensemble, with hat and veil to match, and silver fox furs. Her bouquet was of violets and auturmi leaves. Mrs» Turner, sen., and Mrs. Taylor received the. guests at the reception, which was held at the Empire Hotel. Those present included Mr. and Mrs. J. H. After several congratulatory speeches the bride cut the three-tiered cake, which was the gift of her aunt, Mrs. E. Button- (Timaru).

The bride's travelling frock was of clover green serge, a model fur-felt hat trimmed with brown suede, accessories to tone, and-a spray of daffodils.

In the few weeks prior to the wedding the bride was the guest of honour at several "at homes" given by Mrs. D. Kennedy and Mrs. G. Freeman, Mrs. E. Pope and the Misses O. and L. Pope, Mrs. C. Girdlestone and Miss Riro Girdlestone, and at a morning tea on the Saturday before the wedding given at Messrs. Kirkcaldie and Stains tearooms by her sisters-in-law, Mesdames S. E. and C. M. Turner.
