GOOD DUNEDIN SEASON
A profit of £1092 4s 2d on the season's operations is shown in the annual report and balance-sheet of the Dunedin Jockey Club. The totalisator investments amounted to £208,864, as against £191,073 the previous season, and the attendance of the public was better than for years past. As the nominations for the various offices that have been vacant under the rules do not exceed the number required, no ballot will be necessary at the annual meeting of members on Thursday next. « The officers for the new season will be:—President, Mr. A. C. Hanlon, K.C.; vice-president, Mr. L. C Hazlett; committee, Drs. F. b. Batchelor and K. Ross and Messrs. A. Barnett, A. Clark, J. A. Cook, C. N. Draper, W. Garrett, J. A. Gow, A. P. Greenfield, B. S. Irwin, L. J. Potter, and A. N. Smith.
CAR LEAF FOR MARTON

HAWERA, This Day. \ The steeplechaser Car Leaf is a newcomer to Hawera tracks and is under the care of R. Brough, with whom he will remain, until after the Combined Hunts Meeting. He is an obstinate customer but has only to.settle down to be a good proposition in hack and hyCar r Leaf, SSRaceaway, Winsome Lv, Gitana Lass, Amoroso and Viracious are booked to race at Marton tomorrow and the team looks to have excellent prospects, with a preference for the chances of Gitana Lass, who is working': in improved manner on the tracks. Viracious and Winsome Lv should also be capable of running good raw S* Grinlay is to pilot Car Leaf in his engagements.
