BEING TIGHTENED
FUKIEN BLOCKADE
THREE MORE HARBOURS TO BE CLOSED

LONDON, July 18.
The Shanghai correspondent of the British United Press says that the blockade of the Fukien coast is being tightened up. The Japanese have announced the closing of the harbours at Sanluao, Loyuan, and Schaeheng by means of booms, and third Power nationals and ships have been requested to leave.
The Plong Kong correspondent of "The Times"' states that the Japanese have temporarily abandoned the attack on Macao, and that the Chinese are meeting the threatened Japanese landing at Swabue, where they are blockading the bays.
The Japanese at Kulangsu have stopped, the water supply as a reprisal for the refusal of their being allowed control of the settlement police.
The decline of the Chinese dollar is causing Chinese to go to Canton owing to the high cost of living in Hong Kong, where the first Japanese paper in the English language has appeared.
The Japanese Consul-General in Canton visited Hong Kong, but his mission is not disclosed. Ke denied that the Japanese had officially encouraged anti-British agitation.
Shanghai reports that the Stabilisation Fund has again stopped selling sterling. The Chinese dollar fell to sd.
