PETONE FIRE BOARD

Nineteen calls were received by th» Petbne Volunteer Fire Brigade during the second quarter of this year, according to a report submitted by Mr. J. P. Gaynor, the superintendent, to last night's meeting of the board. Plant and appliances were in firstclass condition, and drills* had been well attended. There were no malicious false alarms. •-. ■ -■ The personnel of the board is now as follows:—Mr J. Kerr (appointed by the Governor-General), Messrs. A L. Garbett and G. W. Miller (insurance companies), and Messrs. J. Huggins and G. London (Petone Borough Council).
