PLANE GETS AWAY
TOWED TO A GOOD TAKE-OFF

a BLENHEIM, This Day Alter a long tow on a punt, the Manawatu Tiger Moth which yesterday made an emergency landing near Te Kawa, Pelorus Sound, look off this afternoon from Eli Bay, some 12 miles from where the landing was made, and [the pilot, W. Howell, clocked in at the Blenheim aerodrome and then headed direct for Palmerston North Accounts from settlers at Te Rtoa are to the effect that the pilot made a ryE? , i able landing on an extremely difficult area, so difficult that he did not decide to use it until he had made examinations from a low altitude of a number of neighbouring bays. However, the plane was not in the least damaged, and this morning settlers assisted in loading it on to a punt, and the aouvney lo Eli Bay W£s ma de in about four hours. There the plane was unloaded and wheeled to a good stretch of fiat country, and the- pilot had no difficulty in taking off
