DEFAULTER'S PLANS

PURCHASE OF MUNGATOON

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Plans for Defaulter's visit to Australia have undergone a slight change. F. A. Roberts has decided to delay his departure till early August, when he will travel in the same steamer as F. D. Jones. Being anxious to secure a working mate for Defaulter. Roberts has bought Mungatoon for Mr. H. D. Greenwood. The gelding has recovered from the trouble that affected him at Trentham and is again in work.

F. D. Jones has made arrangements for Royal Chief to be ridden in most of his Australian engagements by E. Bartle. who was associated with the horse last spring. There will be one exception, however. Bartle is attached to J. T. Jamieson's stable and will probably be required for High Caste in the Chelmsford Stakes, but Jones does not expect much difficulty in securing a suitable rider for that race.
