PRIOR PAYMENT
TIN FROM AUSTRALIA
AUCKLAND ORDER EXECUTED
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, July 13,
notification has been received in! Auckland from Australian brokers to the effect that shipments of tin cart be arranged if payment is made iii Australia at least 48 hours before the departure of the vessel to the Dominion.
An Auckland merchant, who has complied with this condition, ihas received cable advice that his order will be executed.
Though many merchants were ad«i vised this week that, because the neces* sary exchange funds for payment were not at present available, a large Australian supplier of tin and lead was not at present prepared to accept* orders, it is pointed put that since January] 25 shipments of lead have been on ths. basis of prior payment in Australia. The interpretation of tbev-present* situation is that shipments'of .tin have been brought into, line'with financial arrangements ruling with lead, and that there is nothing to suggesjt: at the moment that trading banks, xylll not; in instances at least, .be-prepared to grant the necessary.facilities to; obtain supplies of both metals ba the prior payment basis.
