APPOINTMENT OF GENERAL
MANAGER
SYDNEY, July 11
• The Sydney City Council, which controls the metropolitan electricity supply, today appointed Mr. Roger Vine Hall general manager at a salary of £3000 a year, to succeed the present manager, Mr* Forbes Mackay, who will retire in October.. Applicants from all parts of the Empire included two from New Zealand. Mr Vine Hall has been in the employ of the City Council for 35 years. He will retire in four years' time.
