BILLIARDS
SMALL TABLE TOURNAMENT
A record number of thirty-five entries has been received for the annual Wellington small table handicap billiard tournament, which will begin at Billiards Limited showrooms on Monday at 7 p.m. Six games nightly will be played, and the games will be continued till the following Monday. Succeeding this event will be a women's handicap billiard tournament, entries for which are now being received. *;
Interesting entries this year are the Messrs. Lovells, of Hawera, whom it is anticipated will, provide strong opposition for local players. The opening games of the series are:—A. E. Armstrong v. L. B. Russell; J. Meldrum v. F. J. Faulknor (at 7 p.m.); H. Gilberd v. E. A, Josling; C. Partridge v. H. Overend (8 p.m.); F. Lovell v. G. Jackson; A. Plowman v. J. Berry (9 p.m.). . J,
